How can I speak faster, more accurate Japanese?
I have a problem with speaking and reading Japanese very slowly. I also have a problem with putting sentences together at the spur of the moment (for example: if a teacher asks me a specific question, I just can’t answer it–guess it’s intimidation because I feel like I should be speaking Japanese because I’m half). So, I was wondering if anyone had any tips that would help me speak faster and perhaps even think on my toes faster. Thanks
If you have an Ipod of mp3, fill it with Japanese music for a while. You might not understand it at all, but it is good way you can accostom yourself to the tone of the language while doing other things. The more you emmerse yourself in a foreign language the better. Nothing beats talking to people, even though it can be embarrising and frustrating at first. Try learning a Japanese song even. It will help you with your pronounciation and speed. Something you can sing along to in your mind while waiting on the bus etc…
